Tomorrow the 19th Feb,...for a little practice bimble for some of the Lincs run. Leaving Caenby Corner cafe plus.google.com/app/basic/local/107395803242114733667/about?gl=GB&hl=en-GB about 1.00 pm, heading towards Lincoln area then to east coast. Depending on time, back to Horncastle/Wragby ending at cafe again. Realise it's very short notice, but need to get out! Company would be nice

Trev - I need a ride out, so maybe, just maybe, I'll be there. I'll give you a call in the morning.

Thanks Alex, probably give the coffee a miss this time. Won't be that long after starting off when I'm around yours, so will probably be concentrating on getting lost, long time since I've been on those back roads

Not a cloud in the sky up here, which is OK when the temp comes up a bit.
-4 again this morning on the way in.

Well, home from a very nice run out. Special thanks to Bob and guest for the company. Sun eventually came out in time for the start but got noticeably cooler the further east we progressed, slight hiccup re Bobs arrival meant route had to be adjusted but plenty of twisties made up for that I think. Roads were a bit dodgy on the return leg, damp/greasy and a touch of frost in the shady parts. Bit of a later finish than was originally planned and I don't envy those pair their long ride home, thankfully it's clouded over a bit so should keep the temps up a tad. Very pleased to get out into the fresh air, blow a few cobwebs off and clear the mind. Once again, thanks to my two outriders for their companionship. Regards,Trev. Ps. Thanks for the pressie too Bob.

Trev - Sorry I didn't post up last night that we got home OK, but after a long, boring and very chilly ride back I was just too cream crackered. The sky stayed clear and it was definitely frosty here yesterday evening.
I did question my sanity a few times on the ride back - riding 450-odd miles at this time of year maybe isn't the most sensible thing to do. But I think those lovely twisty roads made up for it. And there was the added bonus of being able to collect some stuff on the way up, though it did throw the schedule out a bit - sorry for that.
No aches and pains this morning, and no fingers or toes lost to frostbite. Now out into the cold to wash that Lincolnshire salt off the bike.

Yep, it's those last 100 miles to home that you begin to think "wtf am I doing, silly sod". Pleased you enjoyed the twisties but as stated the brine put a bit of a brake on the throttle on the return leg Washed the D9 this morning, bliddy mix of molasses and salt and god knows what the council use round here had really mucked her up . All clean and sparkly again now though

White is not a good colour choice at this time of year. But she's come up pretty tidy after a quick squirt (it must be a she, in virgin white with all that gold bling). Plus, you have the advantage of a shaft so no need to lube after she's dried off.
Btw, mods, we are talking about a bike here.
