I have now sold my 600N and have some spares and bits to sell. First off; Genuine Yamaha rear calliper (both pistons) seal kit. Cost me over £16 this summer. £10 including post.

Hi Nick, The bike was a 97. As far as I can remember it had two bleed nipples. I thought that the rear calliper was unchanged for the whole run, but I could be wrong.

My divi's a 93, and has one bleed nipple, but a twin piston calliper, the calliper pistons measure 21mm depth, and 38mm width, if yours are the same, I'll have them off you , can send a cheque, or can do paypal. Cheers Nick

HI Nick, Had a quick measure of the seals and the ID of mine are about 38mm so I reckon they would fit. Strange about the nipples; I thought that most things stayed the same through the years. I have an old Haynes book covering 92-96 and they show a calliper with two nipples! Perhaps another member could enlighten us. Just a thought Nick. Is it possible that one of the nipples has snapped off and not been noticed. They have been known to be a bit fragile to say the least.

I think I'd better leave it thanks, my 600 has two internal seals (which may come as part of kit with piston seals) these two seals link the fulid to the back piston. Cheers Nick

My 98 600 had two pistons, each with a bleed nipple. That said if one has broken it is "possible" to bleed the brake with just one nipple.

The opposing piston callipers have seals where the fluid flow drillings cross over to the other side. Mine are 15 years old and still fine. The piston seals will last three years before they start to get tight as the alloy corrodes. Fit with red grease, strip them every 24 months and they will last indefinitely. Leave them to jam up and you will need new seals. Don't faff with pattern seal they (usually) dont fit. It's one area where the genuine parts are the only sensible option.
