What a shame !
Not that you don't deserve it after years of dedication.
Was only just talking to Carol about plans for 2013 outings - what a coincidence

Come on AL, you know you want to...... surely the rain gods can't always follow you! charlie will get lost on route , wullie's bike might be locked in could be a DIY run else should we consider a venue, meeting point, then decided in the evening where we go the next day....

Do it in Shetland and Orkney and I will organise it. Ferry bookings need done well in advance as there is limited cabin space. I can get camping and wigwams in Shetland. See Breawick cafe website. Orkney is full of english people so I will have to look into thatBraewick Cafe www.eshaness.moonfruit.com/

A year off ? You've only had a year on in the last 3. (ok 2 in 4 I forgot about Aviemore ) Jonny Looks like you could organise a great run but the distance and availability of Ferries would make it a difficult place for a JR. Another Fort William area run would go down well. They are also my favourite roads. I assume the English May Bank Holiday is 24th-27th this year ?

We had an East Coast JR a good few years ago, stayed in Blairgowrie.
Think we did Glenshee then. However some good roads to be done.
Blairgowrie - Pitlochry - Queens view - Tummel bridge back through Aberfeldy is a decent run.
Cairn o Mount - Ballater is also a decent run.
JR traditionally this weekend so that the Softy Southerners get a bit of extra time to travel up and down, that makes sense. If you want a JR to be a different date I don't have an issue. I'm here already. ;D

Ok, if Bev doesn't want to do it , and if it's acceptable to everyone I could do something based around Oban(wrong coast Trev, I know!) Due to my strange work shifts it would only be based on last year's runs, maybe with a few variations. as I dont have time for recces .24 to 27 May so that the folk from far south don't have an iron butt run on Sunday.
Charlie.

Charlie has a PM, there will be a JR13 24-27 May. We'll just have to haggle over who's fool enough to take it up. I won't be camping.

OK, we've agreed, I'm the fool.
We'll have an Eastish Scotland JR this year 24-27th May. Details will be posted during the week.
Will the ND (West) require detailed directions to get out of Glasgow heading East ? ;D

I seem to remember some stayed at Altamount chalets last time we stopped there. Watch this space.

If it was given enough notice most could shirley organise a day or two's holiday to attend if they wished. My main point of not being a bank holiday weekend is b&b's would be cheaper too Just my tuppence worth.
