Hello, I'm new to the site. Im 20, female, from Kent and have just bought a 600 Diversion. J reg with 12,000 miles. I am rushing my restricted access through the end of this week as I'm not 21 before the new laws take over in January so I cant do direct access I did a CBT when I was 16 and had a 50cc for a year then a 125cc till my CBT ran out and I left it while at uni. Now Ive realised I need to do my test now so its being done before mid Jan. The bike will be resticted, does anyone know if this makes much of a difference to the ride? I hope the weather is kind to me while Im doing my training and the test, I hear snow is on the way! Anyway, hello and any tips for my test? ;D

Greetings, welcome aboard . Test advice from this bunch ? Most are so old their licenses are written on parchment . Got to admire your spirit, beating the changes with a rush test at this time of the year . Best of luck, but from your prior experience, I should think you'll be OK. Restriction knocks a bit off the top speed, but is noticed rather less for acceleration, so I'm told.

To pass your test just ride around the block when the tester steps out in front of you don't run him ( its always a him) over answer a couple of questions job done. What! its in 3 parts now & they follow you around & even women can be testers! What is the world comeing to Neil

Im 20, female, from Kent and have just bought a 600 Diversion. 3 out of 4 ain't bad Good luck with your test, and the weather. As Martin says, restriction only noticeable at top end. Tips? Turn up for your test in proper bike gear, first impressions and all that. Above all, don't panic if you make a little mistake, (we all do ), just put it out your head and concentrate on the next bit. Once again, good luck.

Good luck with the 125 test - you're doing the right thing trying to squeeze it in before January. Don't worry about a restricted bigger bike being a let down - It'll be like driving a 1.6L car when you've come from a 1.0L.....OK, it's not a V8, but it's altogether better all round. Better brakes, smoother, easier to ride........bonus all round. As regards Tips, the only one I know is that if you fluff part of the test up (say the turn in the road) ask if you can do the exercise again.

good luck with the test.
This is a good site for advice on Divvy matters. There is a lot of experience here. It's not a bad place for advice on joint replacements, arthritis, angina etc etc, as the average age on this site is about 54 - I have a daughter who lives in Kent (Ashford) - she is 28.
Tips for the test? Don't drop the bike, and don't go too fast.
