Welcome to the fold nonameme from nowherenear ;D
Good luck with your project - hope it doesn't turn out to be a lemon and you resurrect the bike back to a respectable life....
Kind regards,
Neil

The bike had been standing outside under cover for about 3 years the owner had taken off bits exhaust, rear brake, panels, chain etc. and it did'nt look to bad, forks bit pitted, battery was dead. On closer inspectsion the motors seized! won't turn turn over by hand? anyone got any ideas! could be rings rusted to bores (tried oil down plug holes) or dropped vavle ? hav'nt stripped it down yet.

If the exhaust has been off then the damp air will probably have got into at least one cylinder. I would be inclined to take the head off and have a look before trying too hard to turn it over.

My wife might suggest a WD40 bath. For the bike, like. She's not weird or anything.
I'd strip it down and buy one that works. Then you should have lots of spares to keep it on the road for ever and ever!

hi noname and welcome to the forum... ...shame the engine is seized but at least its not the height of summer ....i would strip the motor rather than risk any further damage....although the cost of rebuilding may not prove cost effective...a replacement engine sounds like the way forward....put your location in your profile as many on here have spares gathering dust...

Just got the head off, and found a snapped exhaust valve on number 3 cyl no other damage, just a bit of scarring on top of piston, so not to bad.

These are tough engines. If its dropped a valve, dont waste your time.money with it - who knows what other neglect/abuse its suffered. Good bikes for next to nothing are not hard to find. Keep the old one for spares.
