What's the point ? You'll all be wearing heated gear and using heated grips. Might as well be sitting by the fire. ;D In any case haven't you seen the forecast ? www.express.co.uk/posts/view/358717Cold in Winter, who'd have thought that would happen.

could we just meet up for breakfast ? If it was an unhealthy breakfast (like proper bikers eat!) it might cause heart disease and you could die. If this happened then there have been many cases of dependants and their insurance companies suing the person who facilitated the breakfast arrangements. No doubt one of the grabbing parasites insurance companies would be prepared to insure against such a risk, and would probably even help to spread unsubstantiated rumours about such legal action so that innocent and well-meaning website administrators would be more likely to pay for insurance.

Will there be a recce for the non-existant Jan jolly? It seems to me that those have always been done on the basis of 'I am doing this at this time on this day, and anyone who wants to tag along is welcome'*. Isn't that one of the suggested strategies for avoiding liabilities? **.
I would support the idea of a breakfast meet-and-greet (some may remember that I attended the recce breakfast last year, but wimped out of the actual recce or the ride). Subject of course to a suitable safety briefing and availability of a healthy option breakfast.
* Disclaimer: For the sake of clarity I would state that this is intended to be a representative quotation and is not intended to refer to any specific person, living, dead or undead. In particular, the pronoun 'I' is not intended to refer to me personally.
** Further disclaimer: I do not believe that this strategy offers any protection from liability, and might in fact increase liability.
PS. "living, dead or undead". Which film?

Sadly seems a little contrary to ... 2) We cease to organise and advertise runs and events through the club or any of its associated internet representation (even surreptitiously) and effectively become an internet only club. So I can't say one way or the other. PM me if you would like a clearer explanation.
