Just got my hand on a 1999 XJ600n only 4800 miles from new. ;D A couple of questions. On the road feels like I am riding on ice I am thinking tyres are shot as they are the original Michelins even though the tread is quite servicable. !!! Secondly maybe because it has been sitting for about 12 years under a cover in a garage she starts fine on choke but runs of at least one cylinder when warm. Any ideas?

Welcome - sounds like a good machine with those miles . Even if the Macadams were good when first fitted (but they weren't, they were rubbish !), you need to ditch 'em as they are now some goodly way beyond the recommended age for m/cycle tyres. They'll be as hard as nails hence the crappy ride & inclination to skip about on the slightest dodgy bit of tarmac. Regards your poor running - I'm no help because I'm having the same problem with my CB750f - time to whip the carbs off for a thorough clean .
