The 900 shock isn't compatible with the 600. (Because on the 900 it attaches via a shock linkage, & it's bigger, amongst other things). I reckon working-condition 600 secondhand ones will be rare finds so you're probably going to have to get a Hagon replacement .

You can still buy Betor shocks for the 600. A budget shock, I know one or two on here have fitted them, with mixed results. I think Flymo managed to bust his, top mount snapped I believe after not very long. Generally not considered similar quality to the Hagon, but then it's quite a bit cheaper. Think about how heavy you are, how fast you ride, how much money you have, then make your choice. www.bitzforbikes.co.uk/Betor_Rear_Shock-ref-17735-8924-424.htmlHTH. Also: Expect trouble undoing the bottom mount on your existing shock - known to seize & require brutal treatment to remove!

There is not much choice out there
OEM part about £300 Betor around £200 Hagon Around £300 Various Race parts at £450-800 (and not worth it)
I would go for the Hagon if you can afford it.

I've a Betor on mine, I paid £135 for it over four years ago. They are still available at around £165 if you search hard enough. A budget shock indeed but it does all I want it too. It's wound up for two up and touring with luggage mainly. No probs with it at all. As most Divvy's are at least 10 years old and maybe seeing soon (or past) 50k they might not be worth all that money on a replacement at nearly twice the price. Your choice of course. ;D

Seca is the US name for the Divvy, so the shock will be right.
It's quite an old one though, so make sure the price is right as it may have done a lot of miles / be on it's last legs.

Hi, you could have your shock refurbished for about £120, contrary to what a lot of people might say most shocks can be rebuilt. There is a guy near me here in Glasgow has been doing this for years now, he'll strip the shock and replace all the bushes, seals, O rings etc. I've had shocks done for different bikes over the years and i'm very happy with the results. The company is Caledonian engineering in Glasgow and the guy's name is Hans. good luck. Jim.

The only shocks that cant be done are those that were welded up in the factory. If its got a threaded top it should be rebuildable. The only mod will be to fit a gas filling valve. Costs are generally from £100 and they will moan its not worth the bother. But as you say its an old workhorse bike.

I fitted the rear shock from a Kawasaki ER6.
Bolted right in apart from needing some washers on the bottom mount.
It raises the tail about 1.5 - 2 inches.
Diversion Shock in place
ER6 Shock In place
Divvy Shock
ER6 Shock

K TECH in derbyshire do rebuilds, as well as refurbs on rear shocks.
just had my fazer shock serviced, new oil and gas, and while at it a 'heavier' spring for my lard ar$$. a service/overhaul costs about £100, depends on whether any internal seal/shims need replacment
they were excellent, done while I wait, prearranged, and superb explanations of all daft questions asked!

This info about the XJ6 shock needs to be more easily found for folks with older 600s.
