Well it was a chilly start this morning, but the sun came out & we took to the roads . Well, some roads, some tracks ! Thanks Simon for taking us out today - Bobh was indeed late, & Billywhizz was a surprise attendee . When Bob turned for home I went with him, anticipating a really early return home, only to not get back until 6 - ish . But thanks for the run home Bob, 'twas entertaining . Nice to see everyone - Simon, Roger, Roger, Paul, Andy & Bob. Lets do it again soon .

Excellent day, thanks Simon! Good to see you again after so long. Unexpectedly chilly start and finish to the day. Got back at 7 and promptly dropped the TDM in the garage! Absolutely beautiful part of the country, apart from cheese gorge and Weston, it's not somewhere I've explored before. Some interesting tracks, not Doof friendly though! Good to see everyone again! ;D

I'll add my thanks, Simon.
Showed me a very pretty part of the country that I normally hurtle through on the way to see my son in Devon. The panorama from the top of one of the hills over the Levels and across to the Blackdown Hills(?) was amazing - would have liked to stop for a piccy.
I definitely won't bring the 'Cat next time - my shoulders are aching after all those twiddly little tracks!

Thanks for the kind words. I got back about 17;30 having only done a paltry (compared to some) 150 miles today. It gave me a lot of insight into what I need to be doing to set this up as a run next year.
Sorry to hear about the TDM, hopefully not too much for Andy to fix?
The best view of Somerset. Glastonbury Tor and all of Wells as well as a big chunk of the levels thrown in. It is the Old Bristol Rd, B3134 just through Rookham. Worth pulling into the obsevation point next time? I didnt as the car park is loose gravel.

Bathed and fed, having got home at 8:40 after 486 miles for the two days (not too shabby I thought - 190 miles home in 3 hrs 40 on (mostly) A roads). I'd like to add my thanks to Simon for sorting the run and motivating us all out of our apathy for a smashing day out. We were warned it was "challenging" and indeed it was - the Versys would have been better than the big old bus - but the bus was good on the run there and back. And of course it was great to see some of the regular gang again. At times when the world seems to be full of really horrible people it's good to redress the balance by meeting such nice people again. As Martin said - let's do it again soon (or when the weather's warm enough anyway)

Was this one of the lanes we went down? That video, and BVG is brilliant.. saw that a few months ago and couldn't stop laughing.

If we had, had Sundays weather it could have been! I kept you on the tarmac even if there was grass growing in the middle of it. There are tracks up onto mendip that are scree and dry streambeds until it rains.
