Feel like an early run up to Horseshoe Pass in the morning for some breccy - anyone up for it? I'd be aiming to leave here 7 - 7.30, Crossgates, Newtown (you have to, don't you ;D), Welshpool, Oswestry and follow A5 to Llangollen. Arrive Ponderosa approx 9 - 9.30
Tag along or meet there?

Love to - but sadly I saw this too late and family plans have now been made (or so I'm told!)
Maybe next time?

Just as well nobody else decided to go - got to road leading up to Ponderosa from Llangollen to be told by some (non) helpful kn*bsac on a pan euro that the road was closed for a cycle race.

Happening more and more, bliddy olympic wannabes! How come they pay no road tax/insurance yet the public roads are closed for 'em? Stick the bnggers on private tracks and let 'em pay for the privelege! Hang 'em all

Signs out yesterday on a local road warning "Cycle race in progress" If you decided to hold a "moped" race on these roads even though the cyclists go faster than a 50cc moped & they could not break the speed limits I am sure you would be busted.

I wasn't too chuffed, I can tell you, and would have expected a bit more sympathy from a motorbike rider - I reckon he must have been a closet lycra boy Anyway, on the bright side, I stopped at The Lazy Kettle truckstop just outside Chirk on the way back and had a very good breakfast ;D It's raining here now

You tw@t, that was in my fitness fanatic days. I'd just given up swimming and switched to cycling. It was a necessity, Save the Whale type tree huggers kept trying to direct me back to sea every time I tried to come ashore.
