Looks like a good time will be had in Oban, hope you all have a safe journey and get some decent weather. Currently sat on the banks of the River Nile in Luxor in 45+ degrees of heat so won't be joining you but hope to see you on the Derby run. Reading the posts with interest, will continue to watch BBC World News to see if you can get a mention. Keep it shiny side up Ian & Pat

Full fare is £4.10 per rider/passenger, and another £4.10 for the bike. OMG, you may have caused sleepless nights among your fellow travellers Went a wee cycle to Gourock this morning and called in at the grocer shop which sells the discount ferry tickets. They still do them, so a single for bike + rider is £4.60. Double it if you want to come back the same way. Probably a better option than hoping the ferry crew "forget" about charging for the bike. That probably won't happen, especially if there are a few of us. The diversion into Gourock for the tickets will add about 15 minutes to the journey. Thanks for the reminder TopCat .

No earnings at the moment thanks to the slow moving licensing dept. of North Ayrshire council. So I thought to myself, sod them; they can buy their own . But really - didn't even have enough cash on me this morning to buy a ticket for myself (all those coppers out the piggy bank would have slowed me down!); so I'll be buying on Saturday too . Oh aye; and we need to wait and see how it develops. The way this thread is going, it's difficult to tell if there will be 1 or 10 bikes on the 2pm ferry .

I've got the remainder of a book of tickets from when we were house hunting in Dunoon, the barstewards will probably declare them out of date , + they were for a car. BTW be prepared for a lively Tarbert & Portavadie, www.brewindolphinscottishseries.com/If we don't fill the bellys at Crinan, we have a choice of Tarbert, (excellent veggie food on a barge Martin), Portavadie, or Otter Ferry, so we'll no starve ;D I'm getting excited now

Cheers pal We are being warned to watch out for Florida Ice, seriously! Our very hot spell followed by a little rain today is the cause. wdcurry111.hubpages.com/hub/Florida-IceWe used to get this before global warming, now we usually get loads of rain and a little sun.
