No worries, will re plot your Google maps if I find time.
Never found any conversion software that actually works properly.

Never found any conversion software that actually works properly. Dave Me neither. If your re-plotting, remember both runs are anti clockwise.

.itn Conversion done using "Import from website" within Tyre You'll also find conversions for both .gpx and .csv for Garmin users to try......... They're all Herehth

No faith in Tyre - Garmin conversion, since I volunteered to convert ten days worth of Euro routes thinking it would be easy, but it drew straight lines between waypoints
Will probably just save waypoints for the stops

Just download them into Mapsource and see what happens you grumpy old git. That's why I uploaded the .csv waypoints too - so your blessed Mapsource can work your own JR12 out for you. ;D
Things have developed a bit....the .gpx conversions may actually work for you now - but check the routes in Mapsource first.

Ok, the waypoints are there.....is the software not capable of connecting the dots by the roads that it must know to exist?
Sounds like a picnic error to me ;D

Bit like I said I would do in the first place ;D Thanks for plotting the waypoints though, will save a bit of time

Thanks for plotting the waypoints though, will save a bit of time I didn't - that useless program you have no faith in did it for you. I just uploaded them. ;D

I didn't - that useless program you have no faith in did it for you. I just uploaded them. ;D The point I am making is that you can't convert files for use in Mapsource without user intervention, unfortunately, otherwise it would be grand! When I did the Euro routes there were 1000's of waypoints, so impossible to decypher and join the dots.

The author of the program and other Garmin users on the 'net seem confident that the conversions that Tyre produces work ok.....so maybe Mapsource isn't needed after all...

If you're re-plotting, remember both runs are anti clockwise. Radical !! Thanks DahDit for the file conversions Fiasco, Load DahDit's GPX files into Mapsource and save them to the Garmin routes folder. Re-open and click on the "Routes" tab in the left hand pane which will give you the straight lines as shown in your screenshot Highlight one of the routes and right click Select "recalculate route - and bingo - it puts the route on the actual roads (or at least, mine did ). Save it again and upload to sat-nav. Of course we'll have to wait a couple of weeks to see if it actually guides me down the right roads !!! (I can never remember how to show screenshots so I can't show the results) Roger

Only concern would be accuracy of recalculation, especially if Gordy chose good roads that are not necessarily the quickest or shortest route. Not cynical at all :-)

Yeah, I considered that - but as far as I can see there are so few roads up there that there isn't a choice anyway!
As I said, time will tell - if I go missing for the day, you'll know why (Probably use Al's technique if all else fails!)

Hi Gordy Can I just check, does the Sunday run start at Corran Halls car park ? The google maps route seems to show it starting a bit further South on the A816? Cheers Dave Sunday start is at a petrol station on the road south out of Oban, but still inside town limits. It's across the road from the Co-op and if you look in google maps street view it should be visible. It used to be called 'Gleaner' fuels, but there's been a lot of them changing owners up here recently. I hope to do a final recce this week so accurate name will be provided. To add to confusion there's another 'Gleaner' petrol station less than 0.5 of a mile along the road. All the more reason not to let Wullie lead you astray Sat nicht;)
