Who is interested in a run to Duxford War Museum? It really is a wonderful day out. Good parking and a good restaurant. Take a look at their brochure on: www.iwm.org.uk/visits/iwm-duxford. Sunday 20 May at 10.30am in the car park. Cannot attend now! See following post 7th May.

I would like to be there, but won't unfortunately. I used to be there, often. Back in the seventies they used to hold time trials over 1/4 mile a bit like Santa Pod. My brother ran a pre-unit Triumph there and although I never took to the tarmac for real I did ride his bike on the airfield. We lived at Sawston just 1 mile away and in 1977 I saw Concorde 01 make it's final approach before it landed there for good. At the time my father was involved in restoration on aircraft at Duxford so got in to see quite a lot....and for free! I now have a niece who lives close-by so when we visit her we get some good views of goings-on there. Hope you don't mind me adding this to the thread. Happy memories. Certainly well worth a visit/meet up.

I'm always happy for an excuse to go to Duxford. And it's only an hour from home!

Change of plans!
A bunch of us are going to Wembley to watch West Ham in the Play Off Final on 19 May and plan to make a weekend of it with family in London, so my apologies as I will not be able to go on this trip now.

Although the thought of staying in the Championship appeals, as I have enjoyed watching West Ham playing there, after watching us beat Cardiff by an aggregate 5 - 0 scoreline and bearing in mind the performances in both legs of the tie, I feel that West Ham playing back in the Premiership is as inevitable as night following day.
I intend to thoroughly enjoy my visit to Wemberley, and indeed the Cockney knees up that follows. ;D
