Bought a pair of button braces on Ebay. The other type the grip alligator style things never managed to keep my fave textile trousers up But these button type, used with the metal press-on style buttons have it sorted. Really pleased that they have virtually rescued my 'best' textile strides

Pleased you got sorted Jim.
It's bad enough all these yoofs running around with their jeans/trousers at half mast showing their ar5es without septagenarians lowering the standards even more!

I've not had any probs with the alligators - Marks and Spencers.
But as a poor northerner I only have the one pair, so I end up having to transfer them from my jeans to my leathers etc etc.
One day I hope to be a two pair kind of guy.

I've used a pair of the alligator clip style ones made by Oxford before when I ordered some leathers from eBay and realised that: 1. hardly any bike leathers have belt loops 2. my belly wasn't nearly as big as I thought it was Worked great holding up the not inconsiderable weight of the leathers until I eventually sold them and bought a pair that actually fitted me. Pete.
