Nene Run 2012 14th-15th July 2012 Planned itinerary is as follows: Saturday 14th July: As last year there will be a short afternoon run starting at Super Sausage Café on the A5 ½ mile north of Potterspury. Leaving at 1pm we will have a bimble around the South Northants and Beds countryside ending at Ecton about 5pm. www.transportcafe.co.uk/supersausage.htmlSaturday evening Debs will be providing a BBQ at the Three Horseshoes in Ecton. I'm currently trying to dig up enough dirt to blackmail Nick into doing another disco Entertainment will be provided by a rock band called Adrenaline . All proceeds from the night will go to charity. For those planning to stop for the night there is a hotel in the village called The Worlds End (TWE). If you wish to stay ask for Andrew and tell him you are with Mac Wheatman. He will give you a significant discount from the normal room rate. www.theworldsend.org 01604 414521 Sunday 15th July: Run will start at 10:30 from AJ's Diner. www.ajsdiner.co.uk This is located in the Nene Valley Motorcycle Centre, Leyland Ind Est, Wellingborough, NN8 1RT on the B571 Irthlingborough Road. There is not a petrol station adjacent to the cafe but there are plenty nearby so please ensure you have filled up prior to the start. Run will be about 140 miles and will end about 5pm near to Junction 15A of the M1. Looking forward to seeing you there Sign Up here: Nene Run 2012

There is no camping at the pub but you could camp at Billing Aquadrome which is a mile away. Then again you 2 could get together and share a twin room at TWE. About £20 apiece inc brekky

Well, this is exciting - I have a small queue lining up to bunk with me . ..... I should do my research (IE, check out the habits / snoring of the various contestants for the place.) But if I go by the order in which requests were received, I'll end up with someone who drinks enough to forget who's round it is . It's going to be hard, letting down the unsuccessful candidates, they will be distraught ........

If I was coming along, I would have given you a "take it or leave it, but if you walk out don't ever come back biyatch" type offer Then you wouldn't have such a dilema ;D

Having been spurned by one of our long term members. I have booked a room myself for the 14th. Look forward to putting faces to names. Be gentle with me, it's my first YDC meeting. (Does that mean I'm first round?)

Check again, it's a glider, they tend to land where they have to. No one said it was a plane/helicopter/alien space ship. Don't gliders ordinarily return to their airfields?

TWE does have a couple of single rooms but the rate will probably be the same as a double on the "special rate" Might be easier to book a twin room and advertise for a roomy

Against all odds, it appears this weekend is a weather window in our favour. I was intending to take part on my refurbished D9, resplendant in new powdercoat, paint and stainless steel. My brake line supplier has let me down, big style. First supplied the wrong lines. Been waiting nearly a month for replacement set. No brakes = no mot = no vel = no D9 for this meet. Fortunately I have my little Pegaso Trail to travel on. So I'll be the intruder on the spaghetti fuel'd single cylinder trailee. See you at the Super Sausage Saturday. Anyone else travelling from the north on Saturday morning?
