We have a plan, to take you across the water, but not too far. It involves a ferry trip costing £9/bike + £3.40/rider/pasenger. I have been in touch with the ferry company and they have granted a 60p reduction on the rider/passenger fare, (should be £4). We will only need a single ferry trip. The scenery and roads are great. It involves what 5 of us declared a run of runs in 2010.
Rather than surprise you with this added cost we, (me and charlie) thought it only fair to warn you.
If it's an expense too far, let me know, by pm if you prefer, and we'll try and come up with another route.
Try and respond asap (+ve or -ve) as the ND will convene an extraordinary piss up, soiree, committee meeting to discuss same.

Listen Trevor this would mean using less fuel, as my m/bike won't travel on water, so, unless I can come up with a plan to add the milage of the crossing, onto my overall milage, thus increasing my MPG, this should not involve any further use of my famous pencil and little black book. However, I have started a new heading in said book, for people who pi55 me off!!!! Anyways Gordy and the JR12 organisers, it is very reassuring that you have negotiated a group discount, and that you have it covered, your pensions must be great ;D PS If weather is a bit rough, can we opt for a detour??

Last time that MrsM40Man came with me on a JR (can't remember which one ) we, Fiasco & Teffort returned home via two ferries , 'twas fun. I can imagine the metal decks could be interesting when wet, but we had fine weather on the run home . Had some pics, but can't seem to find 'em . EDIT: To answer the question: I'm all for it .

Avon 'Skin So Soft' is weapon of choice up here As used by our roughie toughie sodjers. (Other repellants are available!)

After 400 miles to get there it would be scroogeing of the highest order not to pay the extra for the best routes.
I will instruct Debs to bring extra housekeeping money.

You do sometimes still forget the credit for the picture Martin ;D You're right, of course - I'll get it right one day ! Mind you, with an intelligent bunch like YDC, I assumed everyone would know you took the pic, as all the others I mentioned in my earlier post on the subject are actually in the photo .

We will only need a single ferry trip. Sweet's the laverock's note an lang, Liltin wildly up the glen; But aye to me he sings a sang, "Will ye no' come back again?" Will ye no' come back again? Will ye no' come back again? Better lo'ed ye canna be; Will ye no' come back again?
