Debs & I just got back as the rain started. Hope it was local to Northampton and not over the remainder of the runsters. I counted 16 bikes, including 3 run virgins, which must a record for a January run. We had to bail after lunch so hope the rest enjoyed the remainder of the route and you all got home safe and dry. Thanks to Martin for the planning and to all the back markers. See you all soon

Your pics look a bit "samey" Rich . It was great to have such a good turn-out today . Brilliant mild day, the sun shone, it could have been spring . No incidents, no u-turns, Tranny got a bit techy but a drink at the end seems to have settle her nerves . Many thanks to my short-notice back markers - no one got left behind. Nice to meet-up with friends, & to make new ones too . I hope the free loos at Farringdon & the special lunch I provided for Clive have in some small way compensated for the expensive loo at Bampton . See you all soon on the next one .

Got back about 20 min ago 315 mile round trip. Great run first time I have seen that neck of the woods when it wasn't frosty, snowing or pizzin down. Only the flys on the visor to spoil the fun ( in January ). Good run home apart from the rain in Hampshire, was that god looking down on JTB or is it because Dave & Jools have moved there. Good to see some new faces & some! of the old ones ;D Neil

Got home about 5 ish, a nice hot shower and bowl of soup and all is good. Many thanks to Martin for an excellent safe and fun filled frollock, extra special thanks to young Dan and the beautiful Christine for being Saturday night taxi drivers for Bob, Fern and myself. Dan dropped us off at some dodgy looking pub with a name that suggested they served 'real' food, only to find out it was that awful tree huggers stuff that rabbits eat Martin then decided to try to drink the pub dry with some real ale type stuff and then started to get emotional over Trev not coming and suggested that the 'relationship' might be on the rocks...he wanted me to sit with him outside while he got upset and smoked. On returning back to the pub, he then wanted me to accompany him to the toilets , having heard rumours of Moffat I declined and thankfully was saved by Christines arrival All was redeemed at H's in the morning with a full meat greasy fry up, Martin eventually turned up with a sore head... BTW, this was JTBs breakfast... A great run followed without incident on some nice fun roads, Fern stretched the legs of her new steed.. Lunch looked like real food but alas, I couldn't afford the southern prices so settled for an overpriced cup of tea which took ages to serve (£2.10 ) Again, M40 came to the rescue with a promise of a tasty snack which he had previously purchased for me.....Proboards won't allow me to comment.... Great to meet up with some usual suspects and new faces..It was great to meet Merv after chatting to him on YDC and 'other' forums Thanks to Martin, 2012 has got off to a great start and thanks to his efforts, I can confirm that I will never be a veggie.. Cheers mate

We were last to leave the services, having spent an enjoyable time with JTB over a pot of tea and hot choc. Had a nice uneventful dry trip back home and eked out the petrol until able to afford a fill-up, lol. (128.9p for ordinary unleaded over the county border at Asda Wheatley).
Hope everyone else found fuel OK and had a good end to a great day. It’s nice to know when everyone’s arrived home safely, especially these with a sizeable ride home. We had a brilliant time today and loved the mix of roads. Ade especially liked the largest U-turn he’s ever experienced. He set off for Rugby at about 10 ready for an early start tomorrow. As he rode off I checked and can confirm I counted 4 pipes on the FJ, BillyWhizz ;-)
Thanks to Martin for planning and leading a great route, and to all the back markers. Everyone made us feel so welcome. Good to see familiar faces and some new ones; familiar bikes and some (really very) new ones. Loved the CBR, Fern – a real corker. What was the gel seat man’s name again – Tony something?
Looking forward to the next run and hope we are all lucky again with the weather. Couldn’t have been better today, could it? :-D

I just got home after visiting a friend. Thanks Martin for a most lovely run and a big thanks to the back markers who were patient with me while I explained the marker system to a couple of pedestrians who were clearly wondering why I was pointing at a hedge ;D

Yes well done Martin, nice run and thanks to all you people for letting me follow them. If you had done the whole run Clive, instead of sneaking off early, you would have missed the rain . Also as Clive has already said, a big thanks to Dan and Christine for the lifts to and from Martins evening event, the ale was very good ;D. bob and Fern

Thanks martin (& the backmarkers) for making my first run with the club a lot of fun! My mate on the bandit 600 sends his thanks too and we're hopeful that if a south-west run gets organised we'd probably be able to make that too.

Thanks BHBob. Dum-di-dum-di-dum-di dum.... I remembered half of it by word association (GelSeat, so: bum = toe/knee) but how could I have not remembered the surname after your marvellous too-short rendition of the Archers' theme? General Gman - hope Monday has been a better day than your weekend was. Wish you could have been on the run. All the best
