We're paying £3 more pppn than Fort William in 2008. The tourist office in Oban are very good. Phone them, tell them your budget. www.oban.org.uk/

I appreciate your dilemma but it's Oban, prepare to be ripped off. JR08 B&B £35, (she likes her comforts ) JR12 B&B £38, not bad in my book, same class of establishment. (Of course, we're from the West )

Glasgow life - In a report for Glasgow Council. No bias there then. That's like asking Wullie what the best Football team in Glasgow is. ;D ;D ;D are you suggesting that a council merely has to comission an independent report to guarantee a favourable report?....interesting....they should all do that. best football team in glasgow?....that's easy....looks like there is only going to be one team from glasgow in the spl soon, so that's a no-brainer ;D ;D ;D anyway, back on topic, oban isn't particularly expensive given the location unless you're a tight-arse.

There's 'independent' and Independent. Are Celtic leaving ? Guilty as charged. ;D However the qualifier 'given the location' indicates to me you also think it's not the cheapest, though still a great location.

Great locations are never cheap, cultured folks know this ;D As proven by my response. I appreciate your dilemma but it's Oban, prepare to be ripped off. The added cost of a hovel will be forgotten when you arrive. Even the elderly Lincs lout gent will return home thinking it was money well spent. Who told the Weegies though. ;D

Are Celtic leaving ? no....but glad to see you acknowledge that we'd have to leave for rangers to be considered the best team in glasgow ;D ;D ;D however, and so you don't succeed in hijacking the thread, i'd have made the same qualification about fort william and there was no problem there afaik.

Are Celtic leaving ? no....but glad to see you acknowledge that we'd have to leave for rangers to be considered the best team in glasgow ;D ;D ;D No I didn't, but you'd have to leave for there to be only one Glasgow team in the SPL. End of hijack. Back on topic. Oban appears to be a little more expensive than Ft Bill. Though the whole area is, IMO, well worth the accomodation costs. I doubt if any of the runsters will leave feeling short changed. Oban is a tourist place and as such you will pay a bit more, doesn't stop me riding there several times a year. If anyone is undecided about attending, I'd recommend it you won't be disappointed.

No I didn't, but you'd have to leave for there to be only one Glasgow team in the SPL. too late to recant now....and if celtic were to leave the spl soon (which was the original context), there'd be no glasgow teams in the spl ;D ;D ;D If anyone is undecided about attending, I'd recommend it you won't be disappointed. good to see you've got with the programme (at last) ...i look forward to seeing no more negative comments on the venue from you.

I wasn't aware I was being negative, as usual you didn't read the whole quote. I appreciate your dilemma but it's Oban, prepare to be ripped off. The added cost of a hovel will be forgotten when you arrive. Even the elderly Lincs lout gent will return home thinking it was money well spent. ie it's a tourist spot you will pay more, however it is money well spent. I note your English comprehension hasn't improved during my absence.

"recant" your word of the day ? No negative comments from me as yet so I can't make more. Ft Bill/Glenocoe/Oban area is one of my favourite places in the world and I've been around enough to have a contrast. Expenses in any tourist area will be higher, not being negative just a fact.
