What a day and what a run.
Excellent choice of roads Dave.
Thanks to Martin for opting to wear the Orange vest and give me a break, then to Webby as Martin threw the vest at him ;D then the gauntlet was passed over to Beebs.
Weather held until the last 1/4 of a mile then it started to drizzle a little I can live with that.
Sorry about the last part being motorway only I could hear Loz wincing and I new she had been popping pain killers earlier and they were wearing of so needed smoother road surface, she is a little trooper and wont give in.
Best memory of the day was the huge bird of pray swooping onto Dave with talons poised to take his head off, then suddenly realising it wasn't what it thought it was ( much to Dave relief ).
Again thanks to all for a very memorable day out.

Thanks dave for a cracking day and fantastic roads, also to all the back markers. What a guy Tom nearly doing a east - west - east coast trip in one day you must have a iron butt by now ;D Home you get home safe and sound. Great to see everyone again for the third sunday in a row, Wales is like a second home at the moment.

Back home by 9pm after getting bored on the motorways & heading home via the Cotswolds . 350 miles overall. Brilliant day - Thanks Dave & everyone else for turning up. Fantastic roads, some fiddly, some open, many sweeping (& some needing to be swept ). A great mix . A few pics to follow . See y'all again soon .

Thanks Dave for organising a very enjoyable and fun filled day with a great mix of roads and brilliant company through out the day, what more could one ask for. The back markers did a sterling job, almost a different back marker for each section of the journey. I could get used to this, going for a run into Wales on a Sunday, the 3rd one for me in the last 3 weeks and also no one came off which is a massive bonus.
Hope you all got home safely, and looking forward to meeting you all again on the next run.
Phil

Ribbit. Sorry I didn't see your post. we Arrived at the visitors centre at 2:30, sorry we missed you. The road closure was due to a fatality. some poor soul didn't make it home today, RIP who ever you are. Dave Feck me, if I'd waited 10 minutes you would have been there , but I was sure you'd been and gone. I'm surprised I didn't pass you somewhere - which way did you come into the visitor centre - from Rhayader or from the dams? I left there at 14.15 with 3 lads in tow from north B'ham - they were going to head back along the A44 until I told them it was closed, so to finish their weekend of touring dams and lakes, I took them around the Elan Valley, then on to Builth from Rhayader, cutting across through Hundred House and back to the A44. Hope you all had a good day anyway (sounds like you did) and I'll catch you next time. I haven't seen anything on the news about the crash yet, but it's sure to make the papers this week.

Flymo
[1] Probably a lie. [2] Right bunch of great people, who are a joy to be out riding with.

As my email last thursday, I'd have liked to make it on this, but didn't manage. I had a pleasant ride down to Shrewsbury in the afternoon. The A53 between Mkt Drayton and Shrewsbury is kinda nice - big, wide, straight-but-not-dead-straight, and empty.
Maybe next time.
