My divvie 900 has now fallen over three times. Apart from being embarrassing its expensive. I've fitted Motrax crash bungs (intended for the Honda VTR 1000). These have 30mm dia aluminium mounts and are the same both sides retained by 10mm bolts. Many kits are not the same on both sides. Welding isnt the ideal solution, but with no upper engine mounts I could see no other option. Each side, I welded a much stronger bracket over the rear fairing mounts. The original barckets would never cope. 1 Disconnect all electrical connectors from battery and generator. 2 Weld 50mm a 5mm steel strip above and below the brackets 3 The original 6mm captive nuts were drilled out 4 25mm x 10 mm bar welded inside the bracket. It could not go outside as this would have affected the fairing subframe mounting. 5 Everything was welded all around for maximum strength. 6 The 25 x 10 was drilled and tapped to suit the crash bungs. To keep the holes square to the frame, this is best done before welding them in place. Drilling the fairing to take the crash bungs was a headche. Next time I would weld the reinforced brackets under the fairing rear mounts. These are only a little further back and would be much easier to align. The low profile indicators are just as visible as the originals, but far less vulnerable. I'll post more pix next time I have the fairing off.
