Hi looking into touring around Perth Australia next febuary, need a Relaible bike to hire, Would love to do on a divi 900 but most hire companys use newer type bikes, (which obviously cost more money to hire) any ideas ? done a search but hire companys don,t seem to rent older bikes, thanks steve.

Try a PM to kevill. He lives in the West and may be able to help. FYI....February is the hottest month of the year in Oz. You can expect high 30's and low 40's in WA that time of the year. Even hotter if you go inland. Don't want to discourage your plans, just let you know what to expect. And to add to Grafes comments, south is very scenic, and lots of winerys around Margaret River. Lots of interesting stuff north as well, but very hot in Feb!

Ditto to what Greg has said.
Hire companies won't hire you an old bike due to insurance issues. It WILL be hot at that time of the year but there are lots of very good beaches, scenery and wineries if you are into that. Make sure you get a summer jacket for flow through cooling. South of Perth down to Albany and the southern forests are the places to go. Out west of Perth will make you think that the flat earth people are right!

And be prepared to confront "Drop Bears" when you stop off the beaten track

Watch out for the 2 types of kangaroo:
There are the ones that if you are stuck down a well with a broken leg will hop 100 miles to the fetch the flying doctor.......
........and the others which taste better on a BBQ ;D
