I recently bought a 33K mile '97 Diversion 900 in seemingly good condition except for the tyres which are close to their limit.
M&P have offered me some Continental tyres at £120 which sound like a bargain, but should I stick with Bridgestone? BT45 or 020? Does the 020 last as well as the 45?
My 600 was horrid on Michelin Macadams but fab with Bridgestone BT45s. I'd happily fit the Conti's but dont want to find they are no better than the Macadams I used on the 600.
Any ideas?

IIRC, you cannot get the 45s for the 900.
The 020s last well, but cannot compare to the 45s as they are on different bikes.
If the Continental are ContiRoadAttcks, then from what I've heard they are comparable to the 020s in grip (possibly better in the wet), warm up quicker, last a bit longer and are cheeper.

I have a Michlin Pilot power in front (good breaking) and a michelin pilot road after (good warming up in winter or rain)
I just ordered a 160/60 michelin pilotpower for after (if it fits I let you know)

If the Conti tyres are as good as the BT020's then price of £120 is a bargain. In January I bought a pair of 020's for my 900 for £155 pounds delivered from "Round & Black" - this was best price I could find. It then cost me £22 for a local workshop to fit them and balance the wheels for me (I removed the wheels myself).
I had a pair of Bridgestone Exedras on before and the BT020's have made a huge difference to grip and handling.

Hi, Thanx folk I'll probably go for the Contis, but need to confirm the model (Thx Ghoti) The BT020 worked out at £155 plus fitting and I think they said they could get BT45 in the size but with all the tyre options my brain got frazzled. Cost was about the same. Fitting is £10 each off bike or £15 on the bike. M&P rock & I now live close enough to get them to do the job rather than do it myself.

Thanks folk.
I need to check the Conti model but I think it was the ContiRoadAttck. They had two bridgestone options BT020 and one I've not heared of. Both cost around £155 Fitting is £10 each bare wheel and £15 to take them off the bike. M & P ROCK (& I now live close enough to get them to do the hard work for me) :-)
