Hey all out there in divi world, I've been experiencing problems with my indicators and hazards on a D6 '99 and wonder if anyone out there has had any similar experience and could offer me some advice please? The problem started as intermitent indicators, not working after heavy rain. This was causing a short somehow. All was fine for ages, and now using the bike both indicators and hazards have gone!! As these have different relays i'm guessing it's not them, all fuses are intact etc., I checked continuities when I was experiencing problems before and there were no problems, I replaced connectors as they were manky, opened up the switch mechanism and all looks well. Reluctant to take it to a mechanic as previous electrical related woes with other bikes have cost me a fortune!! Does anyone have any wise words please? Thanks a lot, Josh

Only advise I would give is to remove, as many terminal block connectors as you can and spray them with contact cleaner, then spray them with ACF50 to keep the corossion away. Remove the indicator bulbs and repeat the same process, while your at it, scrutinise the bulb holders and their terminals.

This sounds like the same as what happened to me on my DV9....this may be too late by by the date of your thread but... Is there a loom running from the left switch gear runs through the front left forks and under the tank where it splits into two connector blocks? If so.... The hazzards were an addition to the bike after the 1st year I believe so good old mr Yamaha did not make up a new loom but modified the hazardless one by making the joins half way WITHIN this loom- all sealed up where you would not think to look - probably about 6 inches from the switch gear in the loom just as it goes under the tank. the welded joins have more than likely come adrift. It's a tank off, airbox off, split the outer sheath (CUT CAREFULY THE OUTER SHEATH AS YOU CAN REUSE THIS WHEN TAPING UP AFTERWARDS) and bobs your fathers uncle hopefully. I made a temp repair on mine and co-incedently just last week made a permanently solder and re-shethed it as a permanent repair. I remember there where two breaks on mine WITHIN THE SHEATH TWO - two into one leads which broke connection so re-soldering with a new sheath within the loom and finishing off with black tape around the split outersheath should fix it - hopefully all should be well....good luck! HOPE THIS IS NOT TOO LATE FOR YOU....

I had the same problem, was down to bad connections in the plugs and sockets that are under the triangle panels under the front of the tank.
