I used this type but could not get a clean cut using the method shown so borrowed a pair of very sharp wire cutters. Mine came from Derby Motorcycle Services at Etwall. I believe they are Russel components. The end fittings will not be aligned correctly and the hose cannot be twisted. So, make up both ends then fit one end to its cylinder and look at the other. It will almost certainly not be lined up right. Loosen the offending cap nut completely and turn the fitting an appropriate amount then retighten. When we used to make brake lines, we just used a decent pair of sidecutters to cut the braided hose.They really are a piece of cake to make up, but these days it's not that cost effective unless you're making quite a few - places like HEl can do them for a decent price.

I have braided lines on mine that are ready built but they are too long and I would like to cut them down but can't find any where local that sell the fittings shops keep saying they can't stock due to the safety aspect of diy builds,oes any one kowof a stockists in the Bedford area?
