Couldn't think of a suitable title for this.
I have a steel tin, about 4" diameter and 2" deep (from those travel sweets that are covered in icing sugar)
Stuck to the bottom of it is a strong magnet that came out of something I was breaking up.
When I am dismantling anything on the bike I put said magnetic tin either on my bench-vice, or on a suitable part of the bike. It sometimes goes on the floor, stuck to a lumphammer.
Nuts and bolts removed are dropped into the tin and remain there - even if you kick it across the floor they don't spill out.
Plastic and Alloy pieces don't benefit from the magnet - but even then the fact that it doesn't easily get knocked over is useful.
