The 900 Diversion fairing is vulnerable even dropping the bike off the stand will smash the plastic. I wanted to fit some crash bungs, but unlike the Bandits there is no-where on the engine to fit anything. There is a cross tube behind the carbs, but its too close to the rider's knees. At the front, the frame is too narrow and a strong enough / long enough cross tube would I suspect risk twisting the frame. This was my solution. The 50mm x 4mm steel brackets support some Motrax crash bungs intended for the Honda VTR 1000. Any will do that have a long enough and equal length support tubes. I drilled the fairing, but in hindsight it would have been better to use the existing fairing mount dimples. Brackets welded to frame. Big and solid but totally hidden by the fairing. Close up 2 weeks after fitting these I loaded the bike with luggage on the centre stand. Rolling (heaving!) it off, I dropped the bike. Not a scratch on the bike, though some minor scars on one side case. I also have some discrete engine bars just about visible in this shot. PS. Note the before and after rocker cover finish. It cost me £20 to have it stove enamelled.
