If you like your seafood the traditional way, covered in batter and accompanied copiously with chips, , I can highly recommend the originally named Oban Fish restaurant. On the main drag on your left as you come into the town from the Connel direction. No pre-cooked stuff, all done fresh when you order, and in Gordy's bikers guide to Scotlands best chippies, holding 2nd pla ice

The new tables are the biz, apparently the timber lay in the owners yard for 10 years before being sorted and taken to the pier. Shame he's sold the Seafood Temple restaurant, it was a gem. His mate who cooked the mussels for me said he felt he was working extra hours just to keep the VAT man sorted. Not what he wanted to be doing at his age. My tip for bike parking. Sneak down the pier side of the railway track and you can squeeze the bike in beside the restaurant bins
