Sorry if this is in the wrong place, feel free to move it if it is You know, there are some riders who give the rest of us a bad name by doing bl...y stupid things. I went down to Llanelli today, and was just going over the mountain by Crai reservoir, doing about 60, when a bike at the front of a bunch coming the other way overtook a car as I was approaching it - result was me diving for the verge, nearly sh*tt*ng myself. So, not quite a name and shame, but if you are the rider who did that, you are a fnunkin KNOB, and I award you tw@ of the week. Proof, if proof were needed: Anybody recognise this test pilot hero?

If I see oncoming bikes I don't object if there's room for us to pass. Different matter if I haven't clocked them though, & wasn't sufficiently 'in' to allow a safe pass.
You wouldn't have liked a stretch of the A338 yesterday afternoon - a car did the same to me, to be fair with just about enough time to avoid a direct pass & to start his pull-in after the overtake. But the two cars following him didn't even see me - I hope, or else they didn't care - because they followed him. We were *that* close it was far too close. You don't have to be on a bike to be selfish.

Those five frames actually cover about half a second of time - I reckon we would have had a closing speed of over 100mph if he hadn't made it through. There wasn't a lot of room - my bike is 4ft wide

I hope you shared your thoughts with him. Had it not been so quick, and the fact I was trying to get as far left as possible whilst staying on the road, I certainly would have

Hi Ribbit, read this post yesterday and I agree with yo , there arre some real knobheads about. On my ttravels out and about today I saw what I thought was this bike as it is quite an unusual colour scheme in a council carpark in Caranaby near Bridlington, felt like leaving a sarcastic note under the seat but cant be too sure that it was the right one. He needs a talking to the stupid twit and your right He or she do give us a very bad name.

Bryan I was using this very camera: cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110659326655&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:ITTried it bike mounted but too much vibration, so it now lives on the side of my lid with the special shaped velcro mount that comes supplied with the cam. It's not a GoPro, but then again it didn't cost anywhere near as much as a GoPro.

Had the same last week.
Great day out, no hassles with cage drivers, then heading home, came round a bend and got the same view as you did.
Now I was in slow mode as I was nearing the end of the day out, and had plenty of time to take avoiding action. Another 20-30mph and it would have been well dodgy.
Always disappointing when it's another biker acting like a knob.

Always disappointing when it's another biker acting like a knob. Another pillion put off biking for life? I have to claim bragging rights for getting a scared pillion back on bikes. Mags Canadian niece and her now husband had had a scare when he was trying to take evasive action and she took fright and caused him to nearly lose control. To be fair she's a radiographer and has seen bike accident consequences 100's of times. We were heading up the west coast, she, her mum and Mags in a car, her hubby and me on bikes. Mags had her bike gear with her. We had stopped in Loch Carron, the sun was blazing down. The young girl was drooling over the scenery and really wanted to see it from a bike, so on went Mags gear and she hopped on with me. We rode from there to Gairloch where she told hubby she'd go on a bike with him again if he traded his sports bike for one like her old uncles. Maybe it was the intercom we had on and me giving her a guided talk on the mountain names in my best Connery accent, but I was dead chuffed she wanted to have another go at the back seat. She's now a mum of two, so it may be a while

She's now a mum of two, so it may be a while I don't think I'd ever want to join you on the back of a bike if that's what comes of it. Seriously, good show.

Ribbit, was your route anywhere near this one? Posted on another forum; Must be the time of year for numpties My route was a bit further south, but a couple of weekends before, I was on that stretch of the A483 from Newtown to Crossgates, and I understand exactly what he means. It's such a cracking stretch of road that it's a big attraction, but the problem is that it attracts the knobs as well as the sensible bikers who want to enjoy the road, but legally. I've been witness to some shocking displays of ill judgement (or downright lunacy) along there. It's not worth saying anything, because they'd probably just sneer and say 'You're just jealous cos you can't keep up' or some other inane comment. Five words spring to mind. No, not that five words......... 'Save it for the track'.
