Can you imagine what the trips' French will be like........er, well that doesn't go 'cos they're stopping in an English run B&B! (Might as well save the ferry fares!) As I recall you have only ever joined us for an hour, which was at mont st-michel on our last trip, and have never experienced the efforts that Adrian and Karen at Normandy Beach go to make us feel welcome and ensure we have a good time. I am sure all those who have actually experienced this welcome will confirm this. Maybe you should join us for the whole four days before you comment on if it is worth the price of a ferry!!

Is the current burst of excessively inclement weather due to an impending Normandy run ?
It's meant to be heading South for the end of the week.
In fact Friday in particular looks to be classic Normandy run weather.
Have fun regardless.

It's meant to be heading South for the end of the week. Maybe it was a good call after all, to give this one a miss. I would have been travelling south on Thursday. 450 miles in this type of weather is never much fun. I have done it before, Ayrshire to Portsmouth on the D9 in February a few years back .

Can you imagine what the trips' French will be like. My interaction with the French locals in their own tongue generally went like this: M40Man: Have-A vous le Veggie petit dejeuner? Local: Non. ....... so you ain't missing much .

To all you Normandie runsters I do apologize. I meant no disrespect to any of you and certainly not the proprietors of your hotel. My comments were intended only on the level of speaking French as provoked by the previous postings. It is usual on this forum to reply in a humouristic manner and that is all I meant to do. You will hopefully find my comment over the ferry trip as simply flippant although over-the-top upon reflection. It was not meant in any other way, I do assure you. I must say I'm not proud to have upset ContourMac. He has been helpful to me in the fairly brief time I've been on YDC especially getting a few of you over here last year at Easter. I know a lot of time is put in by not only the organizer but also the participants to make a run happen. Crossing the Channel is a step a bit more too. Pilgrim.
