Greetings Runsters.
The Oxon Run is back, once again into the Cotswolds so we have The Cotswolds Capers Run 2011. The run is different from the 2009 version in some respects, keeping some best bits & replacing a few others. The sincere hope is that all runsters get to see all bits of it :-).
Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th August 2009.
Meeting for Saturday night food / drink / games at The Volunteer Inn on the A338 just outside Grove:

If we have a reasonable turn-out, we may have an auction of essential biker stuff & who knows what else . In aid of the Lincs & Notts air ambulance. More on this later in the year.[/s] Not enough sign-ups to warrant this, so maybe another better-attended run will pick it up.
Lots of B&B's nearby too, & there is accommodation just down the road, here:

Bunkhouse & Camping here:
www.courthill.org.uk/accommodation.html
There will be a Saturday Run, approx 80 miles, with one stop, leaving from the Volunteer at 2pm, heading South on some of my favourite local roads to demonstrate how Oxfordshire County Council have encouraged the use of smaller twistier roads by making the larger A & B roads 50mph speed limits, aiming to arrive back at the Volunteer for about 6pm.
Those stopping nearby can then park up at their B&Bs or camping sites & let me know where they'll be so I can run them back to the Volunteer for beer & food.
A service taking you home to your dens will be provided, later in the evening .
Food at the Volunteer: All day, up to 9pm and there is a varied menu available with main meals costing in the range from £5 to £8. Mostly £6.95. Also sandwiches, baguettes & jacket potatoes .
A cooked breakfast will be served at the Volunteer from 08:45 until approx 10:00, & will cost £5 to include a tea or coffee. Outside in the car park please for 10:15 for the safety briefing. We leave at 10:30am.
Sunday Run will depart from the Volunteer at 10:30 and will cover approx 120 miles, with appropriate stops for 'rests' as well as the lunch stop.
The run will take us into the Cotswolds along a variety of roads. Some quite technical, others more open. Might be changed a bit if I make a mistake.
Overtaking within the group is fine, please take care if you do.
We will be stopping for lunch in the Cotwolds, details to follow later.
Then return to the Volunteer for tea / coffee & anecdotes :-)
