Hi all, I'm new to the forum and hope some of you may be able to help me. My 1999 divvy 600 front calipers are completely shot some mupet previous owner has had mole grips on the pistons and the whole caliper (both sides) are ruined. I have tried in vane to find good second hand ones and new are a stupid price, are there any other calipers that will fit from any other bike (preferably without the need for modification) As you know mine are the twin disc set up with twin piston calipers. Any help/advice would be very much appreciated. Cheers, Phil

Are you sure the whole lot is scrap?
New piston and seal kits are not prohibitively expensive if you can tidy up the rest of the caliper.
I think, though someone will soon correct me if I'm wrong, that the calipers on the later 600s are not the same as any other Yamahas because the mounting bolt centres are closer together than the earlier single disc ones, the 900 and the bikes with "blue spot" calipers (R1/R6, TDM, Fazer/Thundercat etc.)

I would advise you to try and pick up another pair cheap and rebuild them off the bike ready to just swap them over. Stainless pistons is the solution but they aren't cheap. This chap: myworld.ebay.co.uk/n.chambers53/sells a lot through ebay, if you went to him with measurements he might be able to help you out with an equivalent item.
