Duh, looks like I am going to miss my first (Uk) club run of the year, as we have the out laws visiting Dave o Outlaws visiting. Surely thats the perfect excuse to go on a club run. You have a lot to learn Dave. First thing I do when I know the outlaws are coming is sod off out on the bike and return just in time to say goodbye. Funny enough have done that the last few times, but need to show them I still exist, plus dinner is thank you for them having kids to stay next weekend so we can go to Moto GP :-)

Due to lack of interest in the Saturday run we have decided to change it slightly and make it a longer run. We will be going to Newark as before but returning via Torksey lock, Gainsborough, Retford, Worksop, Barlborough, and Clay cross. This is over great roads but may be a bit long for people travelling some distance. so is there anyone out there interested.
John.

I'm HOPING to come for both days but can't comit just yet because I'm not sure how work will be that weekend.
I realise that this is of no use at all to you in planning a run so I'll just drop into whatever is happening at the time (if I can get there at all) - and be grateful for what I get

Made it back home OK - mostly dry then the heavens opened within 10 miles of home. Isn't it always the way?
Many thanks for a great run on brilliant roads. Sorry I can't make the real thing in two weeks time.

John, No problems mate, great route you have planned. Managed to download the trip logs and convert them to a route, looking forward to doing it all again in a few weeks. Ian

Ian Ian, have you got the routes for Garmin or TomTom? If Garmin, can you attach them to a post so we can see it? (I guess TomTom users might like a look too - if that's the format you have?)

Hi, I use Garmin and have a route in GPS database format. I have also created a route as a Tom Tom itinery file but try as I might I cannot attach them to a post. I am attempting to cut and post the route files but cannot get the paste to work, any suggestions?

Not sure I thought that it was possible to attach a file directly to a post, but now I look into it, I can't see how. I guess you could save the .gps file to a file dumping website (can't remember the names of any at the moment though), then insert a hyperlink to the file dump into a post on this site. Isn't this what 'tinyurl' is for ? Where's all the techies when you need them?

Hope you can make it Chris, and if you have to peel off then I would suggest Owler bar, just above Chesterfield and Sheffield, as the run then doubles back into the Peak district via Bakewell and the A6. Owler bar is soon after the lunch stop.
My friend who has helped with the route plan was also in the area this week end and has just told me that there were proposed road surfacing notices on some of the roads, so I will keep an eye on the situation as a newly gritted road is not good and some minor detours may be required to miss them.
Also, Andy and Myself will go over to the Boundary pub on Saturday night just in case anyone wishes to turn up.
John.

Sorry guys, been spending the weekend getting muddy in a field listening to some great bands play
You should be able to attach the file in a reply by clicking the Browse button under the subject title in the reply window, this should then allow you to add the file directly from your computer without hosting it anywhere else first
If you find attachments aren't allowed in a reply then you can start a new discussin and post it there
Or if you prefer, send the file to me by email and I'll post it for you, doofer AT yamahadiversions DOT com

Doof, There isn't a browse button on the reply screen. When I get home I will send you the routes and get you to add them to this topic, saves cluttering up the site with too many topics on the same run. Ian

I am attempting to cut and post the route files but cannot get the paste to work, any suggestions? For .itn files it's easypeasylemonsqueezy. Open the .itn file in notepad, or any text editor. You'll see the file is just a list of positions and comments that you can copy and paste into a message here. Those that want the file do the reverse - copy and paste the text into notepad and then save the file as <filename>.itn

Thanks Ian and Jen - worked a treat (now all I've got to work out is how to get it onto the Zumo before 25th June !
Looks a really convoluted route - should be fun!

Roger, All you need to do is connect your Zumo to the pc and open the route file. Then click on the transfer to device icon at the top left of the screen and the route will be sent. Diconect the Zumo and turn it back on, when prompted to manage new data click accept and the route will be saved intothe routes folder. Ian

John, When I wanted to post the route for the run I sent it to Doofer and she added it for me, it would appear that the site will not allow members to add files. Ian
