to follow up on recent post in which i had trouble starting bike, i started it yesterday with no trouble but it was only running on 3and 4 cylinders, could not get 1 and 2 to fire up until i took cap of both plugs and rested it on top of plug rather than pushing them on, it started with no problems with all cylinders firing, i did get slight shock from back of 1 of the leads when i touched it, is it possibly a lead issue, coil or could it help if i put wd40 on leads to try and protect them from the damp and cold wheather or do you think coils need changing

From your experiment, it sounds like a couple of replacement spark plug caps will prob sort you out :-) .

There is actually a tiny resistor in the plug cap. If you can get the cap apart, you might probably find that this needs a good clean, liberal dousing in WD40, then it'll probably work again. Probably! But you have nothing to lose by trying as the other option is just to replace them.
