Hi Guys. Can any one help I'm getting a very strong petrol smell on my Divvy and the bike seems to miss fire when you first start it in the morning for a few seconds then clears, its had new plugs its also very unresponsive when cold (splutters a lot) but when its warm it goes like a good un, Guys any help would be great full, cheers Vmas

Could be a sticky float or float valve allowing the level in one carb to overflow. This would account for the smell and the misfiring. Once the engine's running the vibration could free the sticking and it settles down to normal.
It's not too difficult to take the float chamber bowls off and clean them out Use a well-fitting x-point screwdriver as the screws are the usual Japanese cheese spec. and will round off if you aren't very careful. Ideally replace with capscrews for next time.

That's Great bobh I've got a week off next week so I will get time to look at it. I will have a look at the floats to see what's going on, Thanks for that and I will keep you posted.

Just a update on what I've found, The fuel tap was not shutting off so the fuel smell seem to be coming from that and new fuel tap kit fitted also I found one of the carb balancing screws had come loose causing a miss fire, so hopefully with test ride tomorrow should all be cured.
