need to pick the brains of the all wise wonderful ones I have found a sticker under the seat of my XJ 600 N it reads
4KE9-069
B
is this by any chance the paint code for this bike and if its not how do I find it

just found out the code from all places ie the yamaha dealer

for any one who needs to know the code it MRE and its called mature red and the best bit yamaha dont carry paints lol so off to RS BIKE PAINTS

Hi there mine is the same colour. My dealer told me the code was 00FE

Had a look at RS Bike paints and the smallest touch up size 25ml x3 work out just over £35 once you add tax and shipping.

I have some touching up needed to the lower front frame and the pillion footrest hangars.Is it wrong that was thinking a tin of red Hammerite will maybe just do rightly lol.

Try a paint mixing specialist - you usually find them on trading estates hidden away in a unit down some cul-de-sac.

Often, some have scanners and can match your paint - or if not can work to a colour match to get as close a mix as they can.

Probably cheaper - and you'll end up with 0.5L or more to play with ;D

after being quoted £150 to get the side panel and mud guard painted I politely told the chap to abscond well not in they words lol he also told me the paint code was wrong so huggyg71 your code may just be right .
