Hi,
I recently had my bike MOT'd and while I was there one of the guys advised that he thought the camchain was rattling a bit and that the automatic tensioner could do with resetting (or some such, can't remember his exact words). He said he was familiar with the XJ foibles having run a fleet of hire bikes at one point and did explain how to do it but I've forgotten.
Can anyone explain exactly what I need to do? Bike is on 33k miles.
thanks a lot
Ben

thanks, I had read that thread, thing is it doesn't specify how much slackening is required. Just a bit paranoid, don't want things falling to pieces inside the engine!
Is there something I should listen for?

Is there something I should listen for? Just undo it and, if it's working correctly, you should hear/feel it click. Tighten up again and try, you'll not hurt it.
