We set off for Ullapool via a one night B&B at Kyle of Lochalsh, in the coldest, windiest weather for August I have known. Glencoe was wet and wild but magnificent, when I could snatch a quick look away from the road due to the gales. After Fort William it was like another country, wall to wall sunshine 10 minutes before our arrival at the B&B the heavens opened again, but Guinness and the biggest mixed grill ever soothed my fevered brow. The plan was to detour by Applecross on our way to Ullapool, but 90mph on the hills and an all up weight of about 440kg made me err on the sensible side. Our week in a wee flat was great, but the north wind never stopped and it was cold cold cold, except for one glorious day when we climbed the heather covered hill behind the town. I'll add web info for all the places we used when I dig it out. In the meantime here's some pics

Lovely part of the country when the weather is good. So I'm told! Last good weather was in 1976 or so! Charlie
