Hi Read a lot about the D6 which has alleviated some concerns - mid range vibration, spongey feel and soft brakes. I have only had my D6 a couple of weeks and for one of those it was in the bike shop (main dealer ) ; apparently where the bike had been standing there was a lot of water in the tank, causing rusting, and the rust had clogged the carbs and fuel lines. Not a great start! Anyway, now its running and seems to start fine, but it develops a rather loud ticking/knocking which gets more prominent and faster when you rev up the engine. Continues whether changing gear, in neutral or when riding. there is no 'feel', just the noise. Any suggestions? Only other problems are turbulence (standard screen is terrible almost making me wish I'd bought a 600N...), rather lumpy running at below 2500 revs when hot, and more problematic starting when hot. Otherwise loving it when the rain stays away!

If it's there all the time, and not dependent on load or engine speed. it's probably a valve clearance that's a bit on the wide side.
But it's a bit hard to diagnose without a bit more info, e.g. what mileage has the bike done, and do you have any service records, in particular has it had regular oil and filter changes?
The lumpy running and difficult hot starting could be just the carbs needing balancing, or possibly the dealer didn't get all the carp out of the fuel system.

Thanks - 22k and the last full service was 2 years ago at 20k. Only owned by previous owner for those two years, and its been stood more than its been used. Only three owners including me and the appearance is of a bike that was well looked after (or barely used) by the first owner for the previous 10 years.
Certainly doesnt alter with load as I've been out by myself and with an adult pillion, no difference. Ticking is proportionate to engine speed. I think there is some rust in the fuel tank so could be some still lurking around.
