Hi All, I have an xj600 on a 91 reg and the inlet rubbers are perished,So far i dont think its drawing air but methinks it cant be far away,Tried e-blag but nothing doing,are the fazer 600 ones the same?or s there anyway to reseal the rubber over the cracks?I want to get the carbs balanced and thats gonna be the first thing they point out.Any suggestions most welcome.Thanks.

Squirt WD40 on the joints, if they are leaking then you will hear the idle speed pick up.
Other than that, leave them alone as far as possible since disturbing them will break weak rubbers quicker. I considered wrapping self amalgamating tape around the rubbers but opted instead for leave well enough alone, as they weren't yet leaking either.

If it is just the outer that is perishing then try smearing rubber glue from a bicycle tyre repair kit over them.
