You might prefer posting this in General for a wider audience, as this group is for geeks and perverts who like to show off their sex toys ;d But I use the Motrax Vishas, it's nice and strong, good rating and reasonably priced. But no disk lock is going to stop anyone picking your bike up and putting it in a van. www.google.co.uk/products?q=motrax+vishas

Thanks Beeble...
I want it mainly for when I'm popping into a shop or similar just as a deterrent from the opportunist.

Surely you do not need to lock it in Cleethorpes?

Look out for the Lidl ones-£9 if I remember correctly-solid and alarmed-buy 2 1 on the front disc and 1 on the rear sprocket, if some theiving barsteward wants your bike they'll have it, all you can do is stall them as long as poss, will give you time to get dressed, steelies on, reach for your large metal pole and secateurs

Never noticed any difference in premium when I informed my insurance company that I was using a Thatcham approved disk lock. If I had known that earlier I might have gone for a cheaper lock.

True enough Keith, previously the D9 was kept up to date with the datatag and had a xena disc lock fitted when garaged. Told my insurers I had nothing this year and it didn't make a ha'peth of difference on the quote . Also have fitted a thatcham approved ground anchor and chain for my beloved , and it made £2.59p difference , go figure!

S'pose the insurance company would only be interested if the declared Thatcham disc lock was not used if the bike was nicked - I'm sure they'd use it as a get out clause.........
I use a disc lock that came with a chain - useful flexibility. Extra expense tho'.
Either way, find a way to remind you that it's fitted. I used to put my bike keys in the disc lock's bag before putting the bag in my pocket. Others use the cables that stretch from the lock to the handlebars, some use ignition keyhole blanks. Saves embarrassment and possible damage when you ride off with it still fitted.............
We've all done it.

I'd like to see them try that with a D9, you'd probably set off to work in the morning to find your bike on it's side with a dead chav under it.
