Hi i just tried starting my bike and heared a bit of a clunk when it tried to turn over which it then stoped. If i press the starter button i hear a click but nothing happens. I checked everything to see if all was ok and it turns out it was all ok. But i still had to bump start to get it going. Is this likely to be the starter motor relay...
cheers Chris

It sounds like starter motor brushes to me....... Are you into basic mechanics? Not a difficult job to check out and repair.

It could just be a loose battery connection. Worth checking out before you take the starter off.

Right a little update... The starter looks ok... and the battery is ok... Next on the list to check is the starter relay/ solonoid and then the sidestand switch. (I dont think it will be the sidestand as it starts if i bump start it, but worth a check anyway).

Try opening the starter motor and see if the brushes have worn. Min 4mm or it might just be needing cleaned so the brushes can contact properlly thats what was wrong with mine easy fix and its free
