couple 'o questions I hope someone can answer as I'm about to SORN the divi and do some work on it over the next few months. what diameter are the D6 valve shims? what other engine, car, bike, mower uses this size? in the haynes manual p1.18 there is shown a 'universal adjusting tool' for shim replacement. Anybody used one? any good? where can I find one? I've seen things that look identical on websites, eg 'Motion Pro' but are labelled as Kwaker. Thought a "universal" tool might be more useful as other bikes to be done, not Kawasaki tho'. cheers,

Diameter is 25mm other yams like the fj1200 use them and older hondas like the cb750f DOHC, also note that haynes states exhaust valve clearances can go down to .18 with no bad effects.
just done my shims and I gave up using a special tool and instead got the number 1 at tdc and tied the camchain to the cams with cable ties going around the sprockets and took the cams off , It sounds more difficult but it is much easier especailly as i was swapping shims around as well as replacing them

thanks jamjar, I was wondering about taking the camshafts off instead, I am now inspired to do so, not that I've checked the clearances yet. to answer my own question re. alternative sources of shims I found these two references, this one shows shim sizes for cars, some ford and Toyota models suit, and this one has bikes using 25mm shims; Honda , Triumph and Yamaha.
