Hi, does anyone know what the chain length and sprocket sizes should be on 1998 600 Diversion. Ive just replaced them and the 108 link chain that I understood was the correct length appears to be a bit snug to say the least. The old one was the same length but it was that badly stretched it would have gone 'round twice!!
Cheers and thanks in advance,
Tony

Yes, that makes sense. I'll stop looking for a shorter swinging arm and try 110 links!! That old chain must have been in a bad way.
Thanks for the info,
T

Having put a new chain/sprocket set on last summer I can concur. What I was dis-appointed with was the fact that the standard number of links gives only half the adjustment length available at the adjusters. You would have to take two links out to use all the adjustment available in the swing-arm slot, hence 108 links are 'snug'. As the chain is continuous (split links are old hat and not recommended, but I seriously doubt that one wouldn't be strong enough) the turn around of chains are doubly frequent, imho. Well calculated by Mr. Yamaha.
