Should spin at least one revolution quite easily..are the brakes binding?
Edit; chances are if you've just had the tyre changed the pads haven't seated properly, go for a short spin trying your brake then see if it turns any easier.

Take it for a ride for about 2 miles without using the rear brake and when you get off, see if the rear disc is warm/hot [1]
[1] - Dont forget to wet your finger when you try this as removing skin on a hot disc is unpleasent.
Disclaimer: If you fall off or injure yourself when trying the above, don't come crying to me, if you wish to complain about my advice, tell someone who gives a f%$k

... [1] - Dont forget to wet your finger when you try this as removing skin on a hot disc is unpleasent. That ain't gonna help one bit. I recommend you spit on the disc instead, or splash some water on it to check it doesn't 'sizzle'. Keep even wetted fingers well away until you know it ain't at frying temperature. Binding discs can get very hot indeed.

He is right, some posh people even use bottled water when they attend runs with seized brakes A word of caution though, riding on just the front brake can be bad in Sainsburys car parks.

Harsh Clive, very harsh...funny though Binding discs can get very hot indeed. Well worn pads have the same affect

I would wonder if they might have missed out a spacer... Careful!
Also, sometimes bashing the spindle in can finish off a worn bearing... Careful!
How is your mechanicking knowledge? I would suggest you start by taking the back caliper off, and seeing if that makes a difference. If it doesn't, your problem is likely one of the above. Or maybe they just put the wheel in with the chain really tight?

amorti. all is well with rear wheel. i think the pads just had to adjust slightly. the disc is cool [so to speak].i was in the workshop watching the mechanic taking off the wheel and putting it back on,with my new avon tyre.he did not use any heavy force putting it back together again.when i bought the bike last year the tyre was squared off so now the bike is much better to ride.thanks for alerting me to the possobilities of to much force being used in the wheel being put back on .i had used this chap for the 1st time he has just started off in a local unit all in all i was pleased with what i saw him do and the way he did it and would take the bike back to him again.
