So, I took my Seca 2 out for the 1st ride of the year after a long winter. It turns out that my battery is so dead it'll kill my bike if I don't my my rpm over 1500.
I'm now in the market of a new battery and the book calls for YTX9-BS. However, the pervious owner put a YTZ12S MF in it. And now I'm thinking about maybe getting a YTZ14S. I am wondering if there is anything against this move.
Thanks!
Vincent

But an original spec YT (or CT!) should be perfectly adequate & will be cheaper (like-for-like quality & type).

We put a yuasa on our company blackbird, it sat outside for months over winter without being used, when the nice weather arrived she fired up first go.

Have you tried the trick of dropping the "dead" battery onto a hard surface from about a foot or so? Do it a few times.......
It's supposed to knock the some of the sulphates off the plates to allow it to take some charge again. I just learned this technique of late and managed to kick some life into an old battery recently that wouldn't take any charge at all.
Worth a try?

PMSL, just imagined Jane cursing you for breaking the kitchen floor tiles and splashing battery acid all over the shop ;D
