Just purchased an alarm of a top rated seller on ebay called the Cyclone C-11 Talking alarm system.
Had a quick search before buying at buyers feedback and was widley given a 4.5 - 5.0 rating and is recognised by some insurance companies.
Alarm itself is 125db siren and is very hard not to hear even inside.
Has 2 sequences
1. If the faintest of knock is felt while alarm is active it will talk and say "Please step away This alarm system is not active" which is followed by a 5 high pitched beeps.
2. If knocked again within the next 5 seconds the alarm will sound for 15 seconds while flashing the blinkers.
It has a built in imobiliser when wired up and a remote start but not really fussed about that. If someone was to get on the bike hotwire it ect and ride away with the alarm sounding you have a function on the remote to kill the engine from up to 100 meters away. When you get of the bike and turn of the engine it will remind you to arm the alarm by saying "Please remember to arm the alarm".
In all i think this is a brilliant bit of kitt and is really descrete and fits snugly in a corner under the seat and for only 20 quid i would recomend it to those not looking to splash out.

Great review, I will be buying an alarm soon,(not like anyone will want to steal 17 yo divvy, but at least my footpegs wont go missing when i leave my bike outside for 5 hours) I will consider C-11. How long did it take you to instal the alarm? Instruction was easy to follow? Did you get a special wireing diagram for XJ, or was it one universal? Can you upload some pictures of where and how have you fitted the alarm? Or even make a video presentation (you can upload on tinypic.com/ if you dont like youtube )

It looks a bit messy atm but thats because i had to do a bit of work finding wires the other day but the main componants are nicely concealed. .
