Hi all,
The riding season is about to start in AK. However, it's still a little chill out there and I would like to get a hand on a couple of handguard for my bike.
I did a search on the forum and didn't come up much. Di you guys have any idea where I can get a couple of those?
Thanks!
Vincent

Part of the problem with handguards is finding some that will fit (I speak from experience here, having several pairs in the shed that I've optimistically acquired over the years. Offroad ones assume a different routing for the front brake hose (up rather than down), while the ones with a single clamp between the switchgear and levers tend to foul the wiring. My own personal view is that ordinary handguards don't really give worthwhile protection from the elements anyway.
I think the last flurry of posts on this topic came to the conclusion that on the "S" model you're better off with extensions on the sides of the fairing. Alternatively the handguards for a V-Strom can be made to fit, I think. Hopefully someone will come along and post a link.

Have anyone had any success with the Acerbis on the divvy?

I backed off at the price but I'm sure they'd fit and could be swapped to a new bike so maybe not really "that" expensive.
I'd bet with a bit of fettling, the LEDs could be set up as indicators.

Ya, I'm not that impress with the price, but I do want something to defect the wind from blowing right on my hand. I think I saw someone said using the 1qt oil container and mod it to act as a handguard. Anyone tried that before?

Biggest problem is keeping them from blowing back onto the levers and even making them stay on the bike wont be fun (or cute when its done). I tried some "universal" hand guards but scramblers have different bar equipment so nothing would fit the Divvie.
Sometimes the high cost option is the best way to go.

so I happened to come across with a decent priced for the exact Acerbis handguard we're talking above. But I still don't want to throw my $$ into the sea if it won't fit. I'd really want to see if someone has successfully put it on a divvy.

Why dont you try mking some, the biggest problems with fitting handguards is the mounting and them hitting the fairing on full lock, but if you had a spare set of bar ends, a mounting point and carrier can easly be welded to them, then either bolt some plastic ready made handguards to the mount, or make some out of 3mm alloy sheet, or use an old oil container, and form the shape using boiling water ;D

Im sure they will fit, the Tedium isnt so different to the Divvie. The bar ends might need so trimming though.

they are i put them between switches and levers(clutch and brake (loosen levers mount onto handlebar move them along enough to slip them inbetween). One sticks out a wee bit further BUT not really noticable and the weekly ride down the m2 has become ALOT easier on my hands!lol
