I've been using a Weise Hornet jacket for the last few years, and it's been a good bit of kit. My local Honda dealership had one of its 20% off weekends, and with that and a further discount for buying a few other things, I paid about £110 for it. With the crash last summer I'd burned a couple of holes in it and the waterproofing had started to go in these areas. Hi-vis jackets need to be washed quite frequently too, and this one was beginning to show its age. Was looking around for a replacement, and thought I'd stick with Weise. A bit of trawling led me to Bradford Motorcycles, which was offering last year's Compass and Climate jackets for frankly silly prices. Compass : Climate : They come in gunmetal (as above), blue and red. I tried both on (happily I've gone down a size from the Hornet jacket) and both fitted well, although I found the climate jacket to be a bit more practical with the large pockets further down, and it also has the Water Release System to drain water from between the protetive and waterproof layers. Wore it home from Bradford and was warm and toasty. Price? They sold for £169.99 last year; I paid £60 for cash.

What? I like Weise stuff myself - have they any more stock to go?

They also have the neptune jackets for £48.90, which may translate into £45 for cash. The Air Spin 2 you like is £110, but you might be able to chip that price down with your Yorkshire charm.

I'll add my recommendation for the Weise Climate jacket Bought it last year (in red) for £40 off that Ebay Best textile I've ever owned - vents for hot weather, and totally waterproof in the recent monsoon-like downpours. I'll be buying a pair of Weise troos soon to go with it. Fantastic gear
