Has anyone found a source of stainless steel nuts for the header pipes, I'm looking for something similar to the originals, not dome nuts. Thanks, Paul.

I used stainless dome nuts. No corrosion and no way for the weather to get into the threads.

It looks like it will have to be the dome nuts then.

Use lots of good quality anti seize paste and dont bother with stainless spring washers.

I search every where for the same type of nuts too, and I could only find them at bikebandit.com but the postage from USA was steep. but when I needed more due to corrosion I decided to go for dome nuts and I'm pleased with them (no corrosion problems)

I got mine from Pugh and Sanders in Derby. They are a fairly ordinary engineering fasteners factors who specialise in stainless. They might do mail-order if you ask. www.pughandsanders.co.uk/index.htmlTastynuts are another (higher cost) option or ebay.

Just a question. If you put any form of 'nuts' on your exhaust header studs is there enough room to get a socket on them past the frame and all else in the way? I thought the arrangement of the standard downpipes would only reasonably allow allen key clearance?

My 900 was ok with a 12 point socket. My point about spring washers is confusing. With the stainless nuts, use normal spring steel washers. Stainless spring washers are not springy enough.
