Got the screw out and verified that the new hose I ordered is too short.

Got the screw out and verified that the new hose I ordered is too short. Sounds like one of those jobs you wish you'd never started! Good luck with it, anyway.

Good luck with it, anyway. Thanks seems like I need it. On the bright side, I didn't have to drill the cap screw. Center punch and hammer was enough.

Changed the clutch basket for used one with all fingers(previous post) after doing dowel mod, still some noise there but with the play in the oil pump I think that's where its from, get's a lot quieter once warm, now I can hear the valve tapping noise but have got use to water cooled engines so it might not be as bad as I think the bike as done 15,400 miles will see how it goes.

Finally got around to working on mine, then Jamie's, then mine, then Jamie's, now mine again D6 Carbs back on and replumbed, cleaned out tank refitted, then had a play around with zorst system...took the main stand off cos it looks fugly with a single pipe and stood out like a sore thumb. Besides with the new, to me, go faster can* on I'll be able to get my knee down a bit further * special thanks to Martin for the end can. Finally went for a blast, sans fairing and bits, she runs well and sounds luvverly Obligatory pic....

Took my D9 in for MOT and she flew through with no advisories. Not bad for for a 20 yr old bike with nearly 50k. I have had my divvy for 4 years now and was going to sell her on but I am realising what a good all rounder the d9 actually is! Not selling mine and planning trip to France later in the year.☺

I like the exhaust system. Did you buy the full system? Did it fit ok (much swearing?)
BTW that white CX looks really nice. 500 or 650?
ATB & thanks for posting.

The exhaust is just link pipe's and can's my headers are fine so wife got me them for xmas . they were quite easy to fit not much bother at all or was I just lucky. The CX is a 500 euro I did up and sold last year so got a D6 again have a soft spot for the CX I've had 3 x 500's and one 650 in my time, only have space and funds for one bike shame as would have like to have kept hold of it. thanks kirk.

Thanks for coming back so quick. So they connect straight to the headers? - and do away with the collector? They do look good.
I never owned a CX but had aride on one - always remember it being very comfortable.

Hi mine is a D6 not a D9 so no collector as such, the headers have a mild steel Y piece on the end of each pair it's that on a D6 that normally rots (the dull grey bit on mine between pipes) but mine are fine so all good there.

Had my latest Cagiva V Raptor on Fleabay, someone asked if I would sell the spare antenna (as theyre called )and we agreed a price, but before revising my listing and checking the agreed amount had found its way thereto me,I wondered why my PP account was £250 in deficit. Realised that someone had bought the bike buy now. Hrm what to do , explain to the bike buyer or the Antenna fellow. Slept on it, well on my bed but hey yual know what I mean( unless your a camper birdy watcher not under canvas or the moon of love, when Bev's not about to sooth his furrowed brow and translant my ramblings before by bys time in a tent, made of big gals blouses. Anyway time for another new pill, Sent off the Antenna oft thinking if I dont and the bike sale is a dud, I would be kicking myself. then another seeing my addy asked if I would consider letting the upswept Akrovickip exhausts and pillion seat hump go. That too before I realised the whole bike was sposed to be going going gone! After taking it in very biting cold conditions to a not very near by MOT station, who I knew would fit it in the following day, wayhey, and recovering the feel in my handy andies, she having passed was enjoying the sight of many heads aturning and I too buzzing alongside the river betwixt our two towns, had great fun also playing toones fron the TLs VTwin and on the six speed slick Suzi Box so enjoyed the bracing ridemore than the brrreezy main road gallop. Several days went past and despite requests to contact me the buyer I. realised had nofeedback, so I contacted the Raptor owner in Newcastle Upon Tyne and he suggested driving down, but t'would be very late on arrival, otherwise he could send me a deposit as it would be his last chance for a couple of weeks. I am a night owl t'wit to woo some xtra finance that is exactly what happened and withnthe Antenna the chap wanted to convert his Raptor to a V Type was £300 less £12 postage the richer. My stock Cagiva 1000 I bought with Art exhausts but is had sattin finish cans also. I prefer it with these but then because the upswept ackros need a lower rear indicator, and visa versa , Nigel the Newcastle V Raptor chap texted me as he was encountering difficulties, his indicators too high, could we exhange brackets so his morning I found the spare bracket and tried some smaller triangular indicators , then trying to unbolt the oblong ones from that baracket the bolts were so tight the bracket frame was bending. I couldnt get the triangle one side( both missing bayonet connectors,) so bent the oblong ones down and there was before a fag papers clearance before between them and the exhausts, however that did the trick-fortunately Nigel's last text anounced he had sorted his ones out so replied no worries and no doubt saved a tenner for postage into the bargain. Both bikes are up on The Auction site for relatively bargain prices, compaired to a couple of others therein. sic GAv's great bike bargain bananza.

Its ok Kirk. I hadn't spotted it was a D6. Must have had a senior moment - or two. Yes you are correct the D9 (which I have) has the collector.
